WellPlated: How We Handle Your Data

We believe in total transparency. Here is exactly how WellPlated uses your data, without the legal jargon.

What we collect (and why)

Your Email: Only so you can log in and keep your data synced across devices.
Your Name: Used to personalise your experience within the app (for example, on your profile page).
Your Food & Water Logs: We store your meal photos, calorie totals, and hydration logs so you can track your progress.
Your Profile Information: This includes things like your date of birth (used to calculate your age), height, weight, goals, and activity level. We use this to personalise your nutritional targets and insights within the app.

AI processing is optional: If enabled, only the data you choose to share (such as dietary preferences, allergies, or meal images) is used to provide enhanced analysis.

Technical Stability Information: If the app crashes, Apple and Google may provide us with anonymous, aggregated crash reports to help us improve stability.

What we NEVER do:

We do NOT sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to third parties, not to anyone.
We do NOT track you. We don't monitor what other apps you use or where you go.

Who helps us?

We use a few trusted industry partners to make the app work:

Supabase: They provide the secure, encrypted infrastructure where your data is stored.

RevenueCat: They verify your Elite subscription status.

Google Gemini AI services: Used to analyse meal photos and descriptions in order to generate nutritional insights.

No personal identifiers (such as your email or account details) are sent to Google Gemini

The data processed is limited to what is required for analysis (for example, food images or optional dietary information)

Google Gemini does not use this data to identify you or track your identity

Google Gemini operates under strict data protection and privacy standards that are aligned with GDPR and provide protections equivalent to those applied within WellPlated

AI features are entirely optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time within your profile settings

Your data, your control

You own your information. You have full control at all times.
You can access, update, or delete individual meals, health data, or your entire account directly within the app.
